Interstate 83

Interstate 83 is a corridor between Baltimore and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It begins at Fayette and President streets near the center of Baltimore and roughly divides the city between east and west as the Jones Falls Expressway. In Baltimore County, I-83 briefly overlaps with Interstate 695 (the Baltimore Beltway) and then forges onward through Timonium, Cockeysville, Hunt Valley and then through rural areas, all parallel to York Road, into Pennsylvania, where it continues to York and Harrisburg. I-83 was supposed to continue a few additional miles southeastward in Baltimore, through Fells Point and to I-95 in Canton, but community opposition put a halt to this.
