Maryland Route 528, physically a southward continuation of Delaware Route 1, is the main and only north-south thoroughfare through Ocean City, running along the barrier Fenwick Island to the inlet at Ocean City's southern tip. MD 528 intersects the eastern termini of both Maryland Route 90 and U.S. Route 50, which links Ocean City with the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and urban areas to the west.
