Interstate 95

Crossing the Savannah River from Georgia, Interstate 95 makes its way into South Carolina where it proceeds through the areas of Walterboro, Sumter, Florence and Dillon before reaching North Carolina after just shy of 200 miles. I-95, mainly rural through the state, has bridges over the Edisto River and Lake Marion within South Carolina, and intersects Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County and, at its eastern terminus, Interstate 20 just west of Florence. I-95 sits considerably inland of coastal cities such as Hilton Head, Charleston, Georgetown and Myrtle Beach.
