Interstate 795

A freeway successor to U.S. Route 117, Interstate 795 runs 25 miles from US 117 and U.S. Route 13 on the west side of Goldsboro to Interstate 95 west of Wilson, North Carolina. Its western four miles and change run along the corridor of U.S. Route 264 and, as of 2022, are also concurrent with Interstate 587, which continues east past I-795's split to Greenville. I-795 was originally planned as a new alignment of US 117 itself before the highway was federally approved for Interstate designation. In the future, I-795 is expected to be extended to Interstate 40 in Sampson County.
