Annapolis, the capital of neighboring Maryland, is 72 miles from this point. US 301 itself has been a toll road in Delaware since 2019, when it was shifted to this bypass of Middletown from a previous routing through Middletown, over the Chesapeake and Delaware canal, and out to U.S. Route 40 in Glasgow, which it partially shared with Route 896.
