U.S. Route 50 has a short segment in Garrett County in Maryland's far west, then re-enters the state from northeast Washington, DC and passes through the Annapolis area, across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge with U.S. Route 301, and down the Eastern Shore to an end at Ocean City. US 50 has a business route through Salisbury and bears the hidden designation of Interstate 595 between New Carrollton and Annapolis.
