U.S. Route 17 winds through southeastern Virginia's Hampton Roads region, including Norfolk, then runs along the Middle Peninsula and through Fredericksburg and Warrenton, then entering the Shenandoah Valley and reaching its northern terminus in Winchester. US 17 has concurrencies with Interstate 64 in Chesapeake, Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg, and Interstate 66 in the Marshall area of northern Fauquier County.
