Maryland Route 2

Maryland Route 2, the longest state highway in Maryland, runs 80 miles between Solomons in Calvert County and North Avenue (US 1) just north of Penn Station in Baltimore. It passes through Prince Frederick, state capital Annapolis, Pasadena and Glen Burnie in northern Anne Arundel County along the way. MD 2 runs concurrent with Maryland Route 4 for 27 miles in Calvert County, and for 3 miles with U.S. Route 50/301 north and east of Annapolis, using that corridor to cross the Severn River. It was the main route between Annapolis and Baltimore before Interstate 97 was built to its west.
