Interstate 295 north - Penns Grove to Bellmawr

Interstate 295 heads north from its interchange with the south end of the New Jersey Turnpike in the Penns Grove area of Salem County, just east of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Exit 2A up ahead is a cloverleaf ramp meant to carry traffic coming from Hook Road (Salem CR 551) just to the south onto I-295 south and U.S. Route 40 west back over the bridge into Delaware. Exit 2B also targets the same traffic trying to reach US 40 east, as Hook Road does not directly connect to the Turnpike's split with US 40. Photo taken 01-25-2025.

About a mile later, I-295, with a northbound control city of Trenton, reaches its exchange with U.S. Route 322. In the distance, exit 11A leads to US 322 east toward the NJTP and Mullica Hill. Photo taken 01-25-2025.

Soon afterward, the cloverleaf exit 11B leads to US 322 west, bound for Bridgeport and the Commodore Barry Bridge, which takes US 322 over the Delaware into Chester, Pennsylvania. Photo taken 01-25-2025.

Several miles further along, exits 21 and 22 intersect a total of four county routes leading to the cities of National Park and Gloucester County seat Woodbury. Photo taken 01-25-2025.

Then, in Deptford Township, I-295 is nearing exits (26 and 27, respectively) to southbound New Jersey Route 42 which segues into the Atlantic City Expressway a few miles to the south, and Interstate 76 which leads to Camden via its child Interstate 676, as well as Philadelphia via the Walt Whitman Bridge over the Delaware. This is the eastern terminus of the eastern iteration of I-76, which goes as far as Seville, Ohio via Philadelphia, Harrisburg, the northern Pittsburgh metro, and Akron, Much of it runs along the Pennsylvania and Ohio turnpikes.
